I have a degree in Human Resources Management, I am a book author, blogger, YouTuber, have a podcast, musician and composer, teacher, proofreader, translator, photographer, and some other things, always learning.
I have been working as a translator and conference interpreter since 2002. Because of my profession as a lawyer, my field is the legal field, but in these 19 years I have done a lot of work in different fields.
I'm a native of Brazilian Portuguese, fluent in English, French, and Spanish. I also hold two master's degrees, the first one in Portuguese Studies at Université Lyon II and the second one in Literature at Universidade Federal do Paraná. I have more than 18 years of experience as a proofreader, editor, copywriter, and 7 years only as a translator and a transcreator. I am specialized in marketing, literature, dentistry and travel. As a subtitler, I have been working as a subtitler since December 2019.
I concluded my high school in an international school. There, I discovered my passion for languages. My degree in Languages and International Relations, allowed me to gain knowledge not only in the field of translations, but also in economics, law, politics, and intercultural communication. I have worked as an assistant to the director of the communication's department of Fundação Serralves as well as in the Information's center of the European Union in Aveiro. In both opportunities I was able to further improve my writing skills as I was requested to support the international communications team, perform tasks related to translations and proofreading, and interact with a variety of cultures. A former Tourist Guide at the Port wine cellars, then a Portuguese Army Master Sergeant with international cooperation with several institutions in many missions abroad (NATO, EUROFOR, KFOR, EUFOR) and from 2012 to present a freelancer.
I have a PHD in Tourism Management and Languages since 2013 but I work as a translator since 2002 (business phone calls - English<>Spanish).
In 2014, I had the opportunity to create some tours in Lisbon to a friend's small company and being the on-site translator for the tours.
Since 2017 I work as a freelance translator and editor. My experience is in general subjects, but I have all the tools to translate specific matters as well. My works go from resumes to terms and conditions for websites, letters of recommendation, small contracts, College essays, master dissertation... I enjoy reading a wide variety of subjects, including tech magazines, history, and linguistic articles. I just graduated in Languages and Communication at the University of Algarve (Portugal). Terminology applied in translation, Linguistics and Language and Culture of English and Spanish are some of the subjects included in the degree. I am very resilient, committed, enthusiastic and very professional.
