Webinar Q&A

Q: Privacy question: if we processed a document that has sensitive information, does generative AI use it in its training models? If so, is there a way to deactivate the history as is the case with generative AI itself

A: Your business data doesn't leak outside of your workspace or your organization. We do not save the information, we don't look at your information, and we don't use it to train other people's systems.

Q: I don’t see the generative AI prompts in Smartcat. How do I enable this?

A: Generative AI and generative prompts are disabled by default. Feel free to reach out to your CSM or sales team to get this enabled for your account

Q: Can we change the prompting on a project level to address a certain content type?

A: Absolutely, you can create new AI actions. You can remove them, and create new ones. You have the option to select different AI prompts. An enterprise account can have multiple workspaces where you can have different prompts created. For example, your marketing team might have some specific prompts that differ from the prompts used by your technical team.

Q: Are the prompts used by generative AI and its outputs shared? Or are they contained solely within Smartcat?

A: No, we don't share your prompts, and we don't share the output, either.

Q: When will the generative AI functionality be available?

A: AI Translation with generative AI is already available. Feel free to ask your account executive and they can help you to activate it into your account. Smartcat multilingual AI content generator (also referred to as AI Assistant) is in beta but will be available to everyone shortly. You can learn more and sign up for the beta program on the Smartcat website.

Q: Where Smartcat is the single entry point for several content types, how easy is it to determine what content/languages should enter the generative AI only / generative AI+PE / MT+PE/ MT only/ Human translation workflows?

A: It's all feasible using Smartcat’s translation workflows. It's all up to you.

Q: Would you guys share any of these prompts with us? Because I'd love to try them out in our projects as well and sometimes it's tricky to think of a prompt from scratch and I really liked the ones Jean-Luc used in this webinar.

A: Of course we can definitely do that. Feel free to book a call with us to discuss that here.

Q: Does it identify any source language?

A: Yes, we do automatically identify the source language. You can also update the source language from within the Smartcat UI - switching between Brazilian and European Portuguese, for example.

Q: Is there a way to superscript registered marks in French (MD and MC) using AI prompts or even adding an option to the editor tool?

A: It's a good idea to test, we’ve just shared it with our product team!
